An advanced course for those who are those interested in creating a natural pond or lake. It’s open to anyone interested in designing and building a pond, but is especially appropriate for practising landscape designers, garden designers or are involved in landscape architecture. This online gardening course on pond building is for you if you are interested in all the ‘how to build a pond’ technical aspects of the process. You’ll learn about not only the design, but how to build and the mechanical essentials for oxygenating, water features and more. If you are designing and implementing water features on a regular basis for clients, or you simply want to build your own pond to a professional standard – Martin Kelley is one of the UK’s experts on this fascinating subject.
Learn How to Build a Garden Pond
Over the next 4 weeks I will be describing some of the processes and techniques I use in the technical design and construction of water gardens. Lectures 1 and 2 will be concerned with formal water gardens; ponds, rills, canal, fountains weirs and water walls. In lectures 3 and 4 the emphasis will be on informal pools, lakes, waterfalls and streams.
Learning outcome: Whether a designer or contractor, this course will enable you to design and specify your own water features, from formal ponds to large natural lakes.
This course qualifies you for two approved continuing education credits (CEUs) with the Association of Professional Landscape Designers.
